Robert Joseph Jones

Robert was born in Hopkinsville, Kentucky on June 13, 1933 to Mary Alice Davis and Ted Jones. After graduating high school, Robert joined the U.S. Navy, serving from 1952-1954. He met the love of his life, Patricia in Springfield, New Jersey. After the Navy, he made his trade as a machinist. He retired in 2001 and made his way West to Sun Lakes, Arizona, where he resided with his wife of 69 years,

Robert was an active sports enthusiast since childhood. He played baseball in grammar school, high school, and into his adult years. He always found a baseball team to join wherever he lived.

Robert was known for his kindness and had great sense of humor. He lived a full life, and he especially loved spending time with his family and friends.

Robert is survived by his wife of 69 years, Patricia Jones; his sons, Stephen (Claire) Jones of Chandler, Arizona, Daniel (Denise) Jones of Washington, New Jersey, and Christopher (Christine) Jones of Hampstead, North Carolina; his daughters, Patricia (Bill) Remington of Leesburg, Georgia, and Michelle (Tommy) Skillman of Washington, New Jersey; 12 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his brothers, W.L Jones of Mt. Juliet, Tennessee and Philip Keel Sr., of Hopkinsville, Kentucky.

A memorial service for Robert will be held on Thursday, February 20, 2025 at 3:00 pm at Valley of the Sun Mortuary and Cemetery in Chandler, Arizona.
