Robert Roy Van Nimwegen 89, passed away on August 28, 2014. He was born October 8, 1924, son of Dorothy and Andrew Van Nimwegen, in Alton, Iowa. He joined the Army Air Corps in World War II as a B-24 pilot. After the war he attended Iowa State University and received a degree in engineering. He received his Master's degree from UCLA. He retired as Chief Scientist at Garrett Air Research after 30 years with the company. He then became Director of Engineering at Williams International in the Detroit, Michigan area. He is survived by his wife, Anne. October 2, 2014, would have been their 45th anniversary. He is also survived by seven children, ten grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and his sister, Sally Cunningham. He will be loved, cherished, and never forgotten.
