

Roosevelt (Ted) Greer Junior, 84, of Chandler AZ, passed away June 2, 2015, with family by his side. Born to the late Roosevelt & Revella Greer, Dec. 20, 1930 in Providence RI, he was one of seven children ( Wallace, Ronald, Everett, Bertha, Myrtle & Delores). Ted was a graduate of Nelson W. Aldrich High School, Lakewood, RI. He then proudly served in the US Air Force, as an aircraft mechanic, from 1951-55 and received an Honorable Discharge. Utilizing the G.I. Bill, Ted attended Boston University and received a B.S in Business Administration in 1958. He continued his education earning a Masters in Education Administration from the University of Massachusetts in 1975. Additionally, he was a graduate of the Industrial War College of the Armed Services. Ted had a very distinguished career in public service highlighted by positions at the US Bureau of the Census, DC Department of Public Welfare, Director of DC Model Cities Program and US Department of Transportation, serving as the Deputy Director of the Office of Civil Rights. Upon his retirement in 1995, he enjoyed travel and spending time with his grandchildren and family. He relocated to Chandler, AZ in 2001 with his surviving wife of 52 years, Patricia C. Greer.
In addition to his wife, Ted is survived by sons Gary S. Greer, of San Diego, CA, married to Michelle Greer and Chris M. Greer, of Potomac MD, married to Colleen Greer as well as two sisters, Myrtle Rosario, of Seekonk, MA and Bertha Willoughby of Midlothian, VA. He is also survived by 4 grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life will be held at10 AM Fri, Jun 12 at First Baptist Church Sun Lakes, 9535 East Riggs Road, Sun Lakes, AZ 85248
