

William “Bill” Henry Studer Jr., 89, born in Lowell, Massachusetts, on September 24, 1929, of Phoenix, Arizona, went to heaven on Tuesday, January 29, 2019. Bill shared his last days with his loving wife and family by his side.
Bill served 24 years in the U.S. Air Force, retiring as Master Sergeant. While in the military, Bill served in England, Newfoundland and throughout the U.S. Bill was a true sportsman and loved fishing, camping, bowling, and golfing. Bill loved his large family, and would play Santa Claus and Captain of the Ship for all the grandchildren. Bill loved to sing and was known for his beautiful voice. Bill was Social Director for 10 years at Fellowship Square, then retired and continued volunteering his time taking the elderly residents shopping and on outings, and performing plays where he would include his grandchildren to play characters. Bill served as Deacon of the River of Life Church for 30+ years and gave his services for the benefit of the Church and Church Community.
Bill was predeceased by his parents William H. and Marie C. (Quessy) Studer of Massachusetts, and his brother Francis “Frank” Studer of New York; and survived by his wife of 38 years Dorothy “Dotty” A. (Mattingly) Studer, sister Rita (Studer) Shay of Seabrook, NH; children: Ann Marie Schaub of Mesa, AZ; Robert Studer (Cherie) of Glendale, AZ; William “Billy” H. Studer III of Hesperia, CA; Robyn Barnes of Colorado Springs, CO; Melody James (Alan) of Phoenix, AZ; Jeff Barnes (Sandra) of Chandler, AZ; Renee Walker (Willie) of Laveen, AZ; 13 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great grandchildren.
Bill will be laid to rest at the Valley of the Sun Cemetery, Chandler, AZ
