Mom. Where do we even begin? You were a complex woman filled with fire and spice but also love and gratitude. You lived your life wide open and the way that you wanted. Friends describe you as generous, loving, fun, life of the party, and my favorite, awesomely strong friend. You were quick to help someone in need, strangers and friends alike.
You were the definition of a Jersey Girl and wore that label proudly. Life threw many obstacles your way and you approached each and every one as a challenge and faced them with grace, dignity, and faith. Faith that you would prevail. and you did. every time.
Your love of the Jersey Shore was infectious; memories of laughter, friends, fun, and love bring a smile.
You could be difficult.. boy could you… but a nice glass of red and a conversation later, all was well. You needed to know that your children would be ok without you, and because of your teachings of independence, love, determination, strength, and sense of family, we will be ok. we will prevail.
Right up until your last breath, you did it your way.
Cheers Mom, we’ll see you on the beach.

Barbara has been my friend since 1969 when we first met at work. She replaced me (my position) at INA in Phila. PA and there we became instant friends. My hubby and I attended her wedding and later rejoiced in the birth of each other’s children. She taught me to drive at 25, encouraging me to get behind the wheel of her car and “just drive!” Barbara was a faithful “penpal”, sending cards, letters, making phone calls and later emails and texts (not to mention Facebook!), always remembering her friends on their birthdays and at Christmas. She loved her friends, men and women, and kept those friendships going throughout the years even in the midst of so many joys and sorrows. I watched as her faith in God grew, and listened as she shared her love of worshipping Him in fellowship with other Christians at her church. Barbara bravely faced every challenge sent her way with courage. We will miss her, but, Heaven is for real, and it is home for those who put their faith in Jesus Christ, and Barbara is there now! So, until we meet again our friend, we love you.

I was sad to learn of Barbara's passing. I knew Barbara from water exercise class at The Heritage at Lowman Wellness Center. We enjoyed each other's company exercising and playing volleyball in the pool until last March when things changed for all of us. She spoke so lovingly of her family. My sympathy to you all at your loss.

I am so very sorry for your loss. She was a very sweet and fun lady. My family benefited from her expertise in Mexican Train and for that I am grateful. Prayers for you all in the days to come.
