

Carolyn briefly resided at Generations of Chapin in Chapin, SC, nearby her youngest son Ryder Thompson.
Carolyn was predeceased by her parents, Evelyn Juanita Clark (nee Lowdermilk), and Frank Sanford Clark, of Valdese, NC, her younger sister, Dorothy Stuan (Clark), and older brother, Joseph Cameron Clark both of Valdese and Las Vegas, NV.
Carolyn was predeceased by her former husband, Malcolm Thompson, of Mystic, CT, in 2003.
Carolyn is survived by her two sons, Cameron Thompson, (Colleen), of NH, and Ryder Thompson, (Amy), of Chapin, SC, grandsons, Jordan Thompson and Cameron Thompson Jr.
Following Carolyn's childhood in Valdese, NC, and graduation from Stetson University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music, Carolyn pursued her acting career with many supporting roles in Regional Theatre productions, such as, “The Most Happy Fella”- Corning Theatre, “The King and I” - Corning Theatre, “The Crucible” - Corning Theatre, and “Kiss me Kate”-The American Light Opera Co., Washington, D.C.
Carolyn eventually moved to New York City to pursue a career as a Broadway actress, supporting many productions, including “Annie Get Your Gun”. She and Malcolm met on the Manhattan Ferry, wed, and settled in Guilford, CT, later moving to Mystic, CT, to raise their children.
Carolyn received her Master’s Degree from the University of Bridgeport and taught music in the Guilford, New London and Groton, CT school systems, retiring after 38 years. Carolyn was well known for producing elementary school plays emulating popular Broadway shows for her students, such as, “Annie”, “Dig-It”, and “Cats”.
Carolyn loved to sing and perform. One of her favorite things to do was to be a guest singer for the Charlie Holland Band at Skipper’s Dock restaurant in Stonington, CT.
In addition to her surviving sons, and grandsons, Carolyn is survived by many nieces, nephews, numerous friends and students of CT.
Carolyn’s wishes for interment in the Lowdermilk family plot in Morganton, NC, will bring her home to rest, following a life well lived, with travel and adventure.
Carolyn’s sons will see her into eternal life in a private ceremony.
