Clyde L. Shealy

Clyde Leland Shealy, 66, of Chapin, South Carolina passed away on October 10th, 2023 at his residence. He was born in Newberry, South Carolina to his late parents, Aaron Reid Shealy and Mary Ruth Sites Shealy.

Clyde was a graduate of Chapin High School. He then worked at SCDOT for over 30 years, until he retired in 2009. He enjoyed joking, mischief, fishing, gardening, and his grandbabies. He is also well known for giving a helping hand to anyone in need. Clyde enjoyed music and played his bass with numerous people over the years.

Clyde is survived by his wife of 42 years, Dianne Williams Shealy; a daughter, Jennifer Wicker (Jason) of Chapin; son, Aaron Shealy (Danielle) of Chapin; grandchildren, Haley Wicker, Jessica Pantak, Elizabeth Wicker, Jaycee Wicker, Izabella Shealy, Jaxxson Shealy, and Leland Wicker. He is also survived by his father and mother-in-law, Jim and Margaret Williams of Chapin; a sister and brother-in-law, Debbie and Norman Monts of Chapin; sister-in-law, Ruthie Shealy of Chapin; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Warren Reid Shealy.

Visitation will be held at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, Chapin Chapel, located at 123 Columbia Avenue, Chapin, SC 29036 on October 21st, 2023 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. A funeral service will be held on October 22nd, 2023 at 2:00 PM at St. Thomas Lutheran Church, 215 St. Thomas Church Road, Chapin, SC 29036, with a burial to follow in the church cemetery. Pastor Larry Hagerty will officiate.

He has too many special friends to mention just one. They all have helped tremendously in these last days. The family would like to give a huge heartfelt thank you to every one of them.

Pallbearers will be Franklin Amick, Cary Frick, Larry Grooms, Mike Huffstetler, Todd Comalander, and John Riser.

The Shealy family wishes that memorials be made to St. Thomas Lutheran Church, 215 St. Thomas Church Road, Chapin, SC 29036.
