CHAPIN – A memorial service for Darrell E. Roland, Sr., 63, will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Friday, December 16, 2016 at The Salvation Army Center for Worship and Service, 7532 Irmo Dr., Irmo, SC 29212. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Salvation Army of Irmo at the address listed above.
Mr. Roland was born June 19, 1953 in Columbia, SC and passed away on Tuesday, December 13, 2016. He was a son of the late Silas Ion Roland and Mary Evelyn Lindler Roland. Mr. Roland was a member of Salvation Army Irmo Corps, the Salvation Army Men’s Club of Irmo and the Salvation Army Band.
Mr. Roland is survived by his wife, Debbie Roland of Chapin; children, Darrell E. “Gene” Roland, Jr. (Sara), Rev. Matthew T. Roland (Stephanie), Alyssa R. Cochran (Rich) and Crystal D. Shetley (Kevin), all of Chapin; ten grandchildren; brother, Wade E. Roland (Mona) of Lexington and sister, Piper R. Barber (Ryan) of Chapin. He was predeceased by three brothers.
