Gerald Lamar Shealy, 85, passed away on January 10, 2025. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 15, 2025, at Mt. Horeb Lutheran Church with interment in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 14, 2025, at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, Chapin Chapel. Memorials may be made to Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 531 Church St, Little Mountain, SC 29075, or Mt. Horeb Lutheran Church, 101 East Boundary Street, Chapin, SC 29036.
Born on August 21, 1939, in Chapin, Mr. Shealy was the eldest son of the late C. Esthern and Myrtis Shealy. He was truly happy outdoors, especially while fishing on Lake Murray or tending to his multi-acre farm on his tractor, but most of all, his love and loyalty for his family was undeniable. He touched the lives of those around him through his career at the SC Department of Transportation and his memberships at Mt. Horeb Lutheran Church, Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, and the Boyleston Lodge No. 123.
Surviving are his wife, Jonell Abraham Shealy; daughter, Nancy (George) Bollibon, son-in-law, Joe Morelli; step-daughters, Sandy (Mike) Menasian, and Laurie (Mitchell) Henderson; grandchildren, Cameron (Brandon) Prince, Tripp Bollibon, Michael (Justine) Morelli, Nicholas (Jessica) Morelli, Jordan (Mark) Briant, Kaylee, Colton, and Chloe Henderson, and Riley Menasian; great-grandsons, Tillman “TJ” Prince, Sabatino, Roman, Levi, Kaimana, and Koa Morelli; brother, Stan Shealy; sister, Sherryl (Mike) Livingston; and many dear nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his beloved first wife, Berenice “Bea” Shealy; a daughter, Susan Morelli; a brother, Colen Shealy; a sister, Marilyn Shealy; a sister-in-law, Vicki Shealy; brothers-in-law, Bill and Roland Kibler; and a niece, Allison Shealy.
