

CHAPIN – A celebration of life for Henry Duane Edwards, 86, will be held on Saturday, August 19, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Mt. Olivet Lutheran Church, 11733 Broad River Rd., Chapin, conducted by the Rev. Dr. Beverly Aurand and the Rev. Dr. Derald Edwards. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Boys Farm, PO Box 713, Newberry, SC 29108, or to the charity of one’s choice.
Born in Charleston, SC he was a son of the late Joseph Claude and Ethel Lee Brown Edwards. Duane attended Columbia High School and played American Legion and semi-professional baseball. He worked for over 30 years in Civil Service at Ft. Jackson. He was a cabinet maker and expert woodworker. He was a faithful servant of his Lord and served as a member of church council and the Lutheran Men.
He is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Irma Eargle Edwards; children, Gerald and Wanda Edwards, Derald and Vicky Edwards, Sonja and Raymond Carnaggio; grandchildren, Matt and Jessie Edwards and Tabitha Pittman; great-grandchildren, Brayden Pittman, and Iris and Simon Henry Edwards; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was loved by many and made this world a better place.
