He is survived by his loving and faithful wife of 27 years, Crystal Norris-Jennings and his pride and joy daughters, Lilli Jennings and Ava Jennings. He is also survived by niece, Autumn; aunt, Carol; uncle, Joe; and father, Richard. Hoyt was best known as Mitch, invested decades of his life working at the rock quarry which he prided himself on.
He was a family man who spent the weekends riding the golf cart with his family, swimming at the pool with them, and watching horror movies. Mitch was an avid reader who enjoyed Stephen King and Jim Butcher novels as well as listening to the no sleep podcast with his wife and daughters on his days off. His favorite hobbies were going to the movies with his girls, playing video games with them, particularly Fallout and Bioshock, and finding a good deal at the antique stores with his wife.
Mitch loved listening to classic rock, 90’s grunge and alternative rock, and gangster rap. His favorite musicians were the Rolling Stones, Metallica, OutKast, and Nirvana. There was not an animal that Mitch did not meet that he could not domesticate including his beloved snake RiRi, his rescued turtle George, and his favorite kitty Sookie.
Some of Mitch’s fondest memories were playing baseball at Pacific park as a kid, teaching his daughter Lilli how to drive manual in his scat pack challenger, watching his daughter Ava grow as an artist, watching the Atlanta Braves play, and cheering on his Gamecocks during football season.
He will be deeply missed, but his legacy will continue through the love he fostered in his daughters.
