Mrs. Mary Ruth Sites Shealy entered into eternal rest on May 10, 2022 at NHC Clinton. Mrs. Shealy was born in Irmo, South Carolina on November 25, 1924. She was the daughter of Joseph Sydney Sites and Claudia Ophelia Amick Sites.
Mary Ruth was retired from General Electric. During her retirement, she would enjoy doing her yard work and gardening. Mrs. Shealy was one of nine children. Mary Ruth was a member of Mt. Horeb Lutheran Church. She also was a member of Leisure Timers at Mt. Horeb Lutheran Church and The Dutch Forkers at Crooked Creek Park (a senior citizens group). She was the kindest soul anyone could ever meet. There was not a mean bone in her body. She served the Lord graciously and dearly loved her family.
Mary Ruth is survived by her two sisters, Cecil Fermanis, Doris "Dot" Kleckley of Irmo; son, Warren (Ruthie) of Chapin; son, Clyde (Dianne) of Chapin; grandsons, Bryan (Olivia) of Ballentine and Matthew (Carissa) of Chapin; granddaughter, Jennifer Wicker (Jason) of Chapin; grandson, Aaron (Danielle) of Chapin, and great-grandchildren, Haley Wicker (21), Ethan Shealy (15), Hunter Shealy (10), Luke Shealy (9), Jessica Pantak (9), Elizabeth Wicker (6), Jaycee Wicker (6), Sophie Shealy (4), Aida Shealy (2), and Izabella Shealy (1). Mrs. Shealy was predeceased by her spouse, Aaron Reid Shealy of Chapin; siblings, Edward "Bud" Sites of Chapin, Herbert Sites of Irmo, Ellis Meetze of Chapin, Mildred Sites of West Columbia, Lois Hull of Columbia and Ethel Derrick of Irmo.
Visitation will be held Saturday, May 14 from 2:00 – 4:00 pm at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, Chapin Chapel. Funeral services will be held Sunday, May 15 at 2:00 pm at Mt. Horeb Lutheran Church, 101 E. Boundary Street, Chapin.
