Michael Craig Epting

CHAPIN – A memorial service for Michael Craig Epting, 49, will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, February 8, 2015 at St. Thomas Lutheran Church. Pastor Larry Hagerty will conduct the service. He will be assisted by Pastors Ralph Hill and Ginger Litman-Koon of Mt. Horeb Lutheran Church. The family will receive friends after the service at the church. Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, Chapin Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.

Michael was born March 9, 1965 in Columbia, SC and passed away on Tuesday, January 20, 2015. He was the son of Mary Russell Epting and the late Carroll W. Epting. Michael was a graduate of Chapin High School and attended Newberry College. He lived in Greenville, SC for a number of years. Michael spent nearly 20 years in Key West, FL where he was described as a suave master of ceremonies and a tireless fund-raiser. After returning to his home town of Chapin, he served on the Chapin 2016 Planning Committee and the Board of the Chapin High School Athletic Hall of Fame. He was an avid Clemson fan and a familiar face at Chapin Town Hall meetings.

Surviving are his mother of Chapin; sister, Lisa Epting of Chapin; numerous beloved aunts, uncles, cousins and best friend, Amy Herndon.
