

CHAPIN – Roger Lee Jackson, 70, of Chapin passed away on Thursday, August 18, 2016 at Providence Hospital. He was born May 15, 1946 in Neeses, SC to Lena Mae Hutto Jackson and the late Henry Jackson.
Roger was a Veteran of the United States Army. He served in Southeast Asia. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather; he adored his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Lucy Amick Jackson; his two sons, Michael Alan Jackson (Allison) and Wesley Brian Jackson (Stephanie); four grandchildren, Haylee, Lyndsay, Hannah and Joshua; and mother-in-law, Martha Amick. He is also survived by his sisters, Wanda Smoak, Peggy Bailey (Randy), Henry Jackson (Phylis), Major Jackson (Vicky), a number of nieces and nephews, as well as a brother-in-law, Wesley Gleaton.
He is predeceased by his two sisters, Ailleen Gleaton and Laura Oswald Gleaton; two brother-in-laws, Junior Oswald and Don Smoak; and father-in-law, J. W. Amick.
Funeral arrangements are being handled by Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, Chapin Chapel. Visitation will be held there on Friday, August 19, 2016 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 20, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Chapin, followed by a graveside service. Pastor Dave Tholstrop will be officiating the service.
