Larry Lee Dawson

Larry Lee Dawson, 68, of Dunbar, passed away peacefully on March 13, 2015 following a long illness. Larry was born June 1st, 1946, the son of the late Inas and Lawnie Dawson. Larry grew up in Charleston and was a 1964 graduate of Stonewall Jackson High School. Larry spent more than thirty years in the banking industry, most notably as the President of Wesbanco South Hills. For the last fourteen years Larry has been the President and Chief Financial Officer of IVS Hydro Inc. in Institute. Larry is survived by his first wife Kay Arlene Dawson of Scott Depot, WV and loving longtime companion Susan Kay Fields, of Dunbar, WV; children, Brittany Diane Fields, of Sod, Kristi Ann Fields, of Dunbar and David Lee Dawson, of Scott Depot; brother, David Allen Dawson, of Charleston; and grandchildren, Kaylee Nicole Dawson and Virginia Ann Truslow. Larry was an avid and devoted golfer, playing as often as possible throughout the state and whenever possible in Myrtle Beach. Larry was also devoted to his business family at IVS Hydro, being an inspiring mentor, leader and friend to all within the company and all those who did business with him. A visitation and celebration of Larry’s life will be held from 6pm-8pm March 20th, 2015 at Wilson Funeral Home in Charleston, 420 Lee St. West.
