Angelina Magcaleng

Angelina, 81, of Charlotte, North Carolina left us to be with God on June 1, 2023. She was born on July 9, 1941 in the Province of Bulacan, Philippines to Maria Lourdes Mendoza Respicio and Liberato Respicio.

Angelina graduated from Centro Escolar University in 1964 where she received a Bachelor of Science in Foods and Nutrition. After studying at the University, she worked as a teacher in Zambales. She often told stories of her experiences as a teacher and the fun she had teaching.

Angelina was a lifelong devout Catholic. She enjoyed attending mass and the Prayers of the Rosary. In 1971, she married Mauro MagCaleng. The joy of her life was spending time with family and friends. She also loved the arts, especially music and dance.

Later in life, Angelina retired to Charlotte. She enjoyed reconnecting with college friends, reading, taking walks, traveling, and dining out. We will miss you Nanay. And we will miss your laughter, as it filled our hearts with joy.

Angelina is survived by her siblings Ricardo and Antonio; her child Roy, and grandchildren Mariel, Loreen and Mark. She was preceded in death by her husband Mauro; her siblings Jorge, Carmelita, Jaime, and Gaben; and her son Jonjon.

A Memorial Mass will be held at St. Peter Catholic Church in Charlotte at at 2 pm on Thursday, June 15, 2023. The graveside ceremony will be held Saturday, June 24 at 2:30 pm at Forest Lawn-Covina Hills Cemetery, Covina, California.
