West Columbia- Annie Smith Prater of West Columbia passed away on March 29, 2017. Born in Columbus County, North Carolina, she was the daughter of the late Gurley and Emma Ransom Smith and the widow of Ernest Prater, Sr. She is survived by one daughter, Libby Fertick (Danny) of West Columbia, 2 grandchildren, Toni Chewning (Chip) of Lexington , Danis Fertick (Dawn) of West Columbia, and 4 great –grandchildren, Dillon Chewning, Clayton Fertick, Emilee Fertick, and Mason Chewning. She was preceded in death by 1 son, 3 brothers, and 2 sisters. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Grace Chapel Church Missions Fund, 663 Dixiana Road West Columbia, SC 29172. A memorial service is planned for a later date.
