Arthur Edward Kechijian

Art Kechijian peacefully passed away on Wednesday, September 11, 2013, at home surrounded by his family, after a two year battle with a brain tumor. He was 65 years old. Born December 7, 1947, in Providence, RI. Art graduated from the University of Rhode Island. Art was a devoted husband, an endearing father, a loving grandfather, and an admired mentor. His strong, yet gentle touch of unparalleled wisdom encouraged and inspired the many lives he encountered. Art's selflessness will impact generations. He is survived by his wife of 20 years, Susan Prady Kechijian; son, Jason Kechijian of Mt. Pleasant, SC; step-daughter, Angela Copley Totten (Mike); step-son Corey Copley (Amy), both of Charlotte, NC; four grandchildren, Savannah and Tristan Totten, Emily and Ana Copley; a special cousin, Jeff Cote of Cranston, RI.; and three special puppies, Phebe, Oliver and Auggie. Art was preceded in death by his parents, Edward Kechijian and Anna Ashodian Kechijian; one brother, Gary Kechijian and his sweet Auntie Higue Kechijian. The family will receive friends from 2 - 4 PM at McEwen Funeral Home, 10500 Park Road, Charlotte, NC on Sunday, September 15, 2013. Funeral services and burial will be private.
