Searching for another friend, I just stumbled upon Barbara's obituary and am shocked and saddened.  Though I had only met Barbara a few times, I knew her mother, Kay. I, too, am a breast cancer survivor (2007).  May the Lord bless you with His peace and comfort through the days/years that follow.  May you find Peace in His presence and through His Word . . . "I will never leave you, nor forsake you."

Everyone who knew Barbara loved her smile and her hugs.  I can remember many fun days with the boys and my Matt when they started at Latin.  I will always cherish the time I spent with her and felt her love every time I ran into her.  Now I wish we had gotten together as we promised each other over the years. Stuart, I am one of the many you have asked to pray for Barbara during the past year.  I didn't know her, but want to send my condolences to you, Carson, Britt, and Frank. I only knew Barbara through the many prayer requests I received from Stuart. Clearly she was loved by many and certainly by God. I was startled years ago to read "Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His saints." Wow.  I'm reminded often that we are all only here for a short time. Might we love well while we're here. Grace and peace to the family and all who loved her.

It was a privilege to gave meet you in my time in charlotte.  Thanks you for introducing me to your family especially Carson. Also for being a friend and a mother figure, someone to talk to. I just wish we got that glass of wine together. my heart go out to Carson, Stu, and Frank.

When I hear the name Barbara Milner I think of a beautiful woman, a loving servant of Jesus, and a blessed mother.  Barbara walked with joy in her heart and her positive attitude while facing trials was an inspiration.  I primarily knew Barbara through church and remember so vividly how much she loved and prayed for her children.  She will be greatly missed by so many.  We can rejoice in knowing that she now resides with her Savior and Lord and is enjoying restored health and blessings.  Britt, Frank and Carson - may you find peace in knowing how much joy your mother brought into the lives of all she knew.  She was a special ladly!!

I cannot express my sadness in finding out this devastating news today.  We will always have a soft spot in our hearts for all the Milners.  I am disappointed to say that I never knew Carson, but I am sure she was the apple of her mother's eye! Barbara and I became close friends when our boys were all born within a week and we were neighbors.  We consoled each other and compared notes as the boys grew to be friends and playmates.  We cried on each other's shoulders over the tough times in our lives and rejoiced over the good times.   But Barbara was always an optimistic person and forged through all the issues, both large and small.  We also shared a love of the French language, which gave us yet another tie.  I am sorry we did not keep up with each other after the Milners left our neighborhood and the boys were no longer together in school and in play. 
She was indeed a special person and even after long periods away, she always welcomed me with open arms.  
I hope and pray that the family will grieve together and love together and remember all those happy years and what a wonderful loving mother and wife she was!  
May God Bless all of you during the time and let the Lord shine his light on all of you and give you strenght and peace.

I have very fond memories of your mother. A special memory began a few years ago when she gave me one of her 
unbelievably delicious pound cakes the day before spring 
break. The "Barbara cake" was the highlight of our family's trip to the beach that year. It is now a family tradition to take a 
pound cake on our spring 
break trips, and I always think 
of your mother when we eat a "Barbara Milner cake" since 
she started this tradition.
I also admire your mother's strong faith and her unending love for her family.
