Barbara Jordan Sorrells, 102, passed away on February 19, 2024. She was born in Lawrenceville, Georgia on May 4, 1921. She was the daughter of the late Albert Barton Jordan and Maude Lee Jordan. She is predeceased by her husband Walker B. Sorrells and grandson Carson Cooper. She is survived by her children Barton Sorrells (Judith) and Susan Cooper (Ed) and grandsons, Jordan Sorrells and Justin Sorrells.
Barbara was a graduate of the University of Georgia with a degree in B. S. Education. She was a high school English teacher in the Gwinnett County Schools, Georgia and Monroe, Georgia schools.
Mrs. Sorrells and her husband Walker were long time members of Providence United Methodist Church.
A service to celebrate her life will be at Providence United Methodist Church, 2810 Providence Road, Charlotte, NC 28211 on Friday March 1st at 2:00. Visitation will follow after the celebration in the atrium. A private burial will be at Sharon Memorial Park.
