

Beatrice Gittler Kleinman, aged 92, passed away on May 24, 2012. A retired supervisor at the NYC Welfare Department, Beatrice moved from Brooklyn, NY to Charlotte, NC, 16 years ago. She was an active member of the Oasis group at the JCC where she wrote beautiful poems and stories, and was an avid Rummikub player.
Beatrice was preceded in death by husbands, Isaac Gittler and Abraham Kleinman. She is survived by daughters, Linda Apollo and Susan Aizenman; sons-in-law, Paul Apollo and Benjamin Aizenman; granddaughters, Ilene Grodzinsky (Ron), Michele Romano (Michael), Aliza Gelb and Marna Mortimore (Jesse); great grand-children, Ashley and Lauren Romano, Ariella and Aaron Grodzinsky, Alec and Mitchell Gelb and Faith Mortimore. Her eighth great-grandchild, the last leg to her chair and foot stool, is due in June.
A graveside funeral will be in NY on Tuesday, May 29th. Shiva will take place in the Aizenman home starting Wednesday evening at 7:45 p.m. Donations may be sent to Oasis or Jewish Family Services.
