Bernard attended Grady High School in Atlanta where he played football. He received his Bachelor’s degree from the University of Georgia where he also played basketball. Bernard was an avid Georgia Bulldog fan. He began his work career at Ace Hardware in Illinois, then went on to work for Stanley Tools. In 1995, Bernard and Connie opened their own rep agency.
He was active in Boy Scouts and supported Habitat for Humanity projects. Bernard enjoyed volunteering at the Wells Fargo Championship every year. Mostly, he loved cookouts at the lake and playing with his dog Rusty. Bernard’s laugh was his trademark and he was always ready to help a friend. He kept everyone laughing and loved life.
He is survived by his loving wife, Connie; son, Max; brother, Michael Wind; nieces, Bonnie Wind and Annie Gant and family; loving cousins; and many great friends.
