Born May 19, 1955 in Rowan County, she was the daughter of the late James Alfred Hollifield and Barbara Ann Powers Hollifield. She attended East Rowan High School. She was a dedicated employee at NCNB and furthered her career as a project manager at Bank of America. She worked at Bank of America until her retirement in 2016.
Betty was a devoted volunteer and member of the Starclaire Swim Club. She enjoyed her role as the Social Director on the board where she planned pool and community events.
The joy of Betty’s life was her family. She and her husband, Chuck Kranz, were married on September 8, 1974 and recently celebrated their 47th anniversary this year. They welcomed twins, April and Jason, December 7, 1980 to build their family. Betty’s granddaughter Adyson was greeted into the family December 13, 2011. Adyson became the highlight of Betty’s life. She and Adyson kept each other busy with many crafts, baking and road trips to the beach. Betty’s family fondly remembers her as an avid reader and crossword enthusiast.
She is survived by her husband, Charles; two children April Dugan of Rockhill, Jason Kranz of Huntersville; and five beloved grandchildren Adyson Dugan, Aiden Bugler, Emma Bugler, Jack Bugler, Cameron Bugler; as well as her brothers Butch Hollifield, Ronald Hollifield and Steve Hollifield.
She was preceded in death by her sisters Diana Hollifield and Deborah Hollifield; and her brother Joel Hollifield.
A service to celebrate Betty’s life will be held at 3:00pm Saturday December 11, 2021 at McEwen Funeral Service-Pineville Chapel, 10500 Park Road, Charlotte, NC 28210. The family will receive friends prior to the service at 2:00pm.
