Willie Mae "Billie" Hendrickson went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, Thursday, February 9th, at 10:30 a.m.
She was born January 6, 1925 in Sylacauga, Alabama to Charles Henry Lipsey and Lucy Davis Lipsey, the fourth of five children. Billie majored in home economics at Auburn University, where she met the love of her life, Harold Hall "Peck" Hendrickson (1923-2004). They were married 56 years. Billie was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was a fabulous cook, and made the best coconut cake in the world.
Billie was beloved by all who knew her. She never met a stranger, and immersed herself in all she did. Most recently she had been a volunteer with Hospice of Union County, taught Sunday school, and been a member of the prayer group at Glenstone Chapel. She enjoyed playing bridge, gardening, and spending time with family and her many friends of all ages. Billie was active her entire life, and will be remembered for her loving faith in God, which was reflected in her love and kindness to others, and her deep belief in prayer. She was an inspiration to us all, and we will miss her sense of humor, enthusiasm, and great hugs.
Billie is survived by her daughter, Lisa Myers, son-in-law, David Myers; son, Ray Hendrickson; grandchildren, Matthew, Zachary, Samuel Myers, Maria Hendrickson Randall; and great-grandchildren: Ethan Myers, Jackson and Lila Randall, Jewels Thomas Myers.
The family wishes to thank all those who have been a blessing and help during Billie's illness, and for the great care she received from those at Hospice House of Union County the last week of her life on earth.
For those who would like to do so, donations may be made to Hospice of Union County.
A memorial service will be held at Harry & Bryant Company, 500 Providence Road Charlotte at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 18th. Friends will be welcomed immediately thereafter.
