Bobby Ralph Barbee

Bob was born on July 8, 1937, in Concord, NC, to the late John Barbee and Roberta Whitley Barbee. He served in the United States Army from 1958-1960 and the Army Reserves from 1960-1963. He retired from the United States Postal Service in 2006.

Bob is survived by his wife, Alice Barbee, and his children: Angie Rowden (John), Concord, NC; Devin Barbee (Heidi), Concord, NC; stepdaughters: Kelli Olszewski (Andy), Concord, NC; Tricia Pearson, Pineville, NC; and Michele McBride, Tulsa, OK. Bob had 17 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his siblings: Harry Barbee, Henry Barbee and Doris Benton along with several nieces, nephews and cousins.

He is preceded in death by two siblings, Vicky Benton and Fred Barbee and grandson, John Rowden.

Bob was a member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church. Bob enjoyed going to the beach, gardening, fishing, puzzles, cards, and watching NASCAR and Duke basketball. Bot most of all he enjoyed family and friends and was a grand storyteller.

Visitation will be held at McEwen Funeral Service-Pineville Chapel, Tuesday, April 8, 2005, 9:00 am to 10:30 am. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, 7095 Waxhaw Hwy, Lancaster, SC at noon.
