Brenda Lafa Coleman, 78, of Concord, North Carolina, passed away on February 23, 2026. Brenda was humorous, kind-hearted, faithful, and thoughtful—someone who could lift a room with a quick wit and steady warmth, and who offered care in ways both quiet and unforgettable. From the start, her life carried a spirit of joy and purpose that remained with her through every season.
Born in Florence, South Carolina, Brenda grew up in Charlotte and attended Garinger High School. She also studied at the Troyanne Ross Institute modeling school and took classes at Life Christian University, always willing to learn, grow, and explore what inspired her.
Brenda worked for Duke Power and later retired from the company, proud of the years she dedicated to her work. She also worked for the Kansas City Royals Baseball Team from September 1985 through December 1990—an experience that added another unique chapter to a life full of stories worth telling.
Her faith was a guiding light. Brenda traveled with a Christian choir, sharing music and encouragement wherever she went. During her time at Garinger High School, she was on a radio show—“the Wildcat hour”—where she was known as “Peaches.” From the microphone to the choir, Peaches had a way of connecting with people that felt effortless and genuine.
Brenda was preceded in death by her parents, Maxie and Alberta Eddins Coleman, and her brother, Ronald.
Brenda’s life will be remembered with gratitude and affection—celebrated for the laughter she brought, the faith she lived, and the thoughtful kindness she extended so freely.
