Around the early 1980s, Broi relocated to the United States, and more specifically, to the Charlotte area in North Carolina. He met his future wife, Nhung Ma, after moving to the United States and they were married shortly after.
Broi was a longtime employee at Wurth Wood Group, a woodworking supply store, where he worked primarily as a Forklift Operator.
Broi lived with his family in a Montagnard community in Charlotte and they enjoyed spending their weekends barbecuing with their extended family – their neighbors. Broi was quite skilled at barbecuing large animals and could barbecue a whole pig by himself! Barbecuing was often a large family affair, though, where uncles and cousins would all come together to cook and spend time together.
A fan of the outdoors, Broi enjoyed fishing, gardening, and other yardwork. Inside, he loved spending his time playing spider solitaire, learning new technology, assembling furniture, and watching Walker Texas Ranger as well as kung fu movies, and especially those starring Bruce Lee.
Broi was notably adventurous and generally carefree; he enjoyed spending time driving around leisurely. He was somewhat quiet and reserved, and preferred to show his love through his actions. When he wasn’t with them in person, he delighted in talking on the phone with his brothers and other family members. With his children, he would often offer food as a way to show his love.
Those left to remember Broi include his wife, Nhung Ma; his children, Thomas, Lily, Anthony, Philip, and a son and daughter in Vietnam; as well as countless other special family members and friends.
Funeral Services for Broi Ndrong will be announced on a later date.
