born in Yonkers, NY on October 5, 1922 to Harry and Hazel Remsen Von Salzen.
Carolyn is survived by her loving husband of 42 years, James Putnam; two daughters, Karen Becker of Baltimore, MD and Siri (David) Ellis of Charlotte; granddaughters, Sylvia (Rodney) Whitlock, Lisa Dawes; grandson, David (Alice) Ellis and six great-grandchildren, Matthew and Samantha Whitlock, Emily and Maxwell Dawes and Jared and Conor Ellis.
The family will receive friends on Saturday May 19 from 12:00 noon until 1:00 pm at McEwen Pineville Chapel, 10500 Park Road, Charlotte, NC 28210 followed by a 1:30 graveside service at Sharon Memorial Park, 5716 Monroe Road, Charlotte, NC 28212.
