At the 2024 Christmas Party, we loved our last time together with someone very dear to us — Cathy, a beloved member of the Queen City Women’s Club. She gave so much of herself to others, always with a Servant’s Heart. Cathy was fun, loyal, and wonderfully practical. Her warm hospitality was a hallmark of who she was, and she had a way of making everyone feel at home.
I will always think of her whenever I eat a blueberry muffin — a simple treat that she made unforgettable. There is a void in our group now that Cathy is no longer with us, and her absence is deeply felt.
I will forever cherish her memory and the light she brought into our lives. May God grant comfort to all of us left to cherish her life and especially to Jim, David, Shay, and their families.

Jim, I was so saddened to learn of Cathy's passing. She was always the nicest person to work with at the hospital. She always had the warmest smile. You and your family are in my prayers.

I'm one of the Y Mermaids , and bonded with Cathy over our  journey from Marion Diehl ( under construction )  to the Y , and navigating our way . It wasn't difficult . The mermaids were so welcoming and I remember Cathy saying how kind everyone was , and what a " lovely sense of community " she felt . Cathy was so pretty , so full of life , and fun. ! There were 5 of us ( including Cathy  ) who incredibly needed total shoulder replacement last year .  We all did so well . Cathy and I shared the same surgeon , and  recovery and PT experiences . I remember she said she was going to take Jim to her stylist so he couldg learn how to blow dry her hair correctly  during her recovery . Oh Cathy , we miss you .  xo

Cathy and I were Delta Zeta sorority sisters at ECU, and although I was a couple of years older, she stands out in my memories.  I was shocked to hear of her passing and offer my sincere condolences to all who loved her.  She was such a strong, caring and positive person - to know her was to love her - I know she is in God’s arms.

She was is and always will be my second mom… My memories of growing up with her, our summer beach trips and her caring heart I will cherish forever… She is in a better place, but she will be very much missed many prayers and love to everyone.

Cathy was a member of the "Mermaids" water aerobics class at the YWCA.  She was always smiley and cheerful.  The group will really miss her.

I was very sorry to hear of Cathy's passing.  She was a devoted wife, Mother,  and Grandmother and leaves a strong and admirable legacy for her family. God grant you peace and comfort during this time.

Cathy was my Delta Zeta sister at East Carolina University. I remember her kindness and positive encouragement as I pledged DZ. I looked up to her as a mentor as well as fun person with a great sense of humor. Several years ago. I discovered  that a Delta Zeta reunion was being held every two years! I went and Cathy was one of the first to make me feel welcome! She will be missed so much by her many friends.

I was deeply saddened to hear about Cathy’s passing. Please accept my heartfelt condolences.

Cathy and I were DZ sisters and roommates in the blue room at the sorority house at ECU. We laughed and cried over the boys who became our future husbands (yes Jim—that was you!), studied hard, and adjusted to sorority life together as pledges. Those days were filled with friendship, growth, and unforgettable moments, and Cathy was at the heart of so many of them.

I hold countless fond memories of her—not just from our time at ECU, but also from the DZ reunions I was able to attend. Her warmth, humor, and spirit left a lasting impression on everyone who knew her. She will be deeply missed.

Please know that my thoughts are with you and your family. May you find comfort in the love that surrounds you and in the cherished memories that will always keep Cathy close.

I’m so sorry for your loss. I worked with Kathy for over 25 years in the Women's Center at Presby and loved seeing her after retirement when she brought her beloved dog to visit on our unit. She was so caring, and a wonderful nurse. I was blessed to be her work friend and I’m forever grateful I was able to know her. I will miss her sweet face and visits to our unit. Much love to you all ..God has gained a wonderful angel!
