Cerita Rebecca Fox Stewart Love

Cerita was born September 8, 1935, in Caldwell County, NC to the late James Hayden Fox and Aileen Pritchard Fox.

In addition to her parents, Cerita was preceded in death by the love of her life, her second husband, Adrian Love, her cherished daughter, Kim Stewart Blanton, her sister, Linda Harding and her grandson, Justin Stewart.

Cerita is survived by sister, Frances Fox Woodie, who along with late sister Linda stayed close over the years enjoying holidays together and spending weekends playing Canasta.

Cerita married at a young age and spent her early years caring for and raising her six children. Rachel Tallent, Ray Stewart (Cindy), Ron Stewart (Donita), Karen Burgess (Ricky), Brent Stewart (Donna), and the late Kim Blanton. She was the loving grandmother to fifteen grandchildren, twenty-seven great-grandchildren, plus another on the way, and three great-great-grandchildren. She loved the holidays when her large family gathered to enjoy holiday meals together.

After dedicating her early life to raising her children, Cerita was able to focus on her own life and was in her 30's before she attained her driver's license, her high school diploma, and a college degree. She began work at Personal Legal Plans and was quickly promoted to Office Manager where she retired after a long career. She enjoyed line dancing and gardening. She always had a yard and home full of beautiful plants and flowers.

As she grew older, the children who she had made sacrifices for during her early years had a chance to give back what she had given to then while growing up. Every effort to help her was followed by the words, "Thank you so much for what you do for me. I don't know what I would do without you."

Cerita attended Moores Chapel United Methodist Church. For many years she was a member of Catawba Heights Baptist Church where she served as Pianist and later, taught herself to play the church organ.

Quite fittingly, her last words to her family on Christmas Day were "Merry Christmas". In lieu of flowers, honorariums may be given to Cerita's favorite charities: Gaston County Young Life (giving.younglife.org recipient: NC179) or Feed the Children (feedthechildren.org)
