

Charles was born July 18, 1952, in Atlanta, GA. He attended Henry Grady High School and continued his education at the University of West Georgia majoring in business. Throughout his career he was known for his hard work, dedication, and overall joy of working.
He was a lifelong sports enthusiast playing basketball, softball, baseball, tennis, and golf. He enjoyed watching college ball especially basketball and football. Charles was a lifelong Georgia Tech fan.
In his spare time, he enjoyed collecting sports memorabilia and working outside in the yard. He especially loved having cookouts with family and friends, going to music concerts and festivals and college football games with his children.
Charles was never afraid to take on new opportunities and did everything with honesty and integrity. He had a strong work ethic and family values and was well liked by everyone who met him due to his infectious energy and personality. He was inviting and easy going with a young at heart quality. You could feel this as he would continue a conversation or tell stories in an entertaining manner.
Charles is survived and deeply missed by his loving and dedicated wife Marty (Calbert) who had just celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary together on February 14, 2025. Also left to mourn his loss are children Robin Lenderman (Rob), Hillary Holleman (Charlie) and Tim Watson (Amber). He is forever cherished by those who called him Poppi/Papa Charles – Kip, Charley Allison ‘Alli,” Hayes, Lillie, Graham and Payton and his four-legged son ‘Bubba Watson’ Watson, the dog.
Charles is preceded in death by his parents Charles Allison Watson, Sr., and Dorothy Young Watson.
Those who knew him will treasure his warm smile, generous spirit, a shining light that left a profound impact on the lives of those who had the pleasure of knowing him. Most of all he will be known for his deep rooted and unwavering faith in his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, always making sure to lead by example through his strong faith and dedication to the Lord.
A memorial service to celebrate Charles’ life will be held at McEwen Funeral Service – Pineville Chapel on Saturday, April 5, 2025, at 2pm.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Tunnel to Towers Organization (www.t2t.org) reflecting Charles’ love for his country and generous spirit.
