He was a dedicated father who worked long and tirelessly to provide for his family. He was so very proud of his grandchildren whom he also loved very much. Most notable was his devotion and steadfast love for Doris. Throughout the years of their marriage there were good times and “not so good” times but there was never a doubt that he loved her until he drew his last breath.
Charlie was a charter member of Denver Baptist Church. In his younger years, he enjoyed working tirelessly to help with building and maintenance projects at the church. He especially enjoyed the fishing trips with some of his church friends.
He was a truck driver by profession and loved to help anyone with directions. He enjoyed talking about the million miles he had driven since he began driving at age 14!
Charlie was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie and Eula Webb, sister, Pauline, and brothers, James and Bobby. Charlie was also preceded by the death of his sons, David Lee and Joel Mark Webb.
Mr. Webb is survived by his wife, Doris of Denver, NC; daughter, Mary Barnette of Abingdon, VA; son, Timothy Webb of Denver, NC.; two grandsons, Joshua Webb and Mark Barnette; seven granddaughters, Dana, Kacee, Brittany, Sharon, Teresa, Shelby & Michelle, and 5 great grandchildren as well as loving nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, February 9, 2018, at Forest Lawn West Cemetery. Rev. Chris Griggs is officiating.
A special tribute to Charlie’s son-in law, Paul, whom he referred to as “my son”. The care and love shown by Paul to Charlie was an example of the most unselfish type of love and compassion.
