Chris was a kind and cheerful soul whose smile always brightened my day.  I haven't seen Chris in several years and did not know he was sick, but he will be sorely missed.  Holly Harper

Oh!! I can't begin to tell you how sorry and shocked I was to hear about Chris.  I always enjoyed working with him because he had a terrific attitude even in difficult situations.  Such sparkly eyes and just an all round nice guy!  I'll miss his smile.  

You are all in my prayers.

On February 2, 1961, I met John and Lee Burchett when I joined the production staff of WBTV.  Lee spent a lot of time at the station then because Chris was so close to making his appearance into the world.  Three weeks later, he announced his arrival as all babies do.  

There were several families at the station expecting new babies around the same time;  we blamed it on everyone's drinking from the same water fountain in the lobby.  TV hostess, Pat Lee, was also on maternity leave, so when she returned there was a "diapering" contest among all the new fathers on her show.  This was Chris' television debut.  Before the show went live, John was practicing his diapering technique and Chris was lying on the changing table in all his glory ... when the "fountain of youth" erupted!  What a debut!

Because we were close friends, and my free time was still mine to determine, I would volunteer on occasions to keep Chris so John and Lee could have some time to themselves.  After Dean arrived I still enjoyed keeping the boys to let the young parents get away for an evening.  Those occasions probably helped me put off marriage for several years.

John, Dean, this is just a small part of why I will miss Chris.  But it is the love I have felt for the entire Burchett family which is why I am affected so deeply.

To all the Burchett family, with many fervent prayers - I am beyond words at the news that dear Chris is no longer with us. I will miss most those incredible eyes. They were the first thing I noticed when I met Chris, at the first rehearsal for SHEAR MADNESS in 2006. Not only breathtakingly beautiful, they were also the mirror of the man's soul - soft, loving, caring, and full of mischief! "Goodnight sweet prince. And flights of angels sing thee to thy rest."

Your family is in my thoughts and prayers.  I was so sad to hear of Chris's passing.  Chris and I lost touch after I moved from Charlotte in 1998, but he was a very good friend to me.  I will always remember his yummy Mexican dip and lots of laughter during many card games.

These very touching messages that have been posted are surely being used by God to minister to you in many ways during these very difficult days, after having said good-bye to your beloved son and brother. We express our deepest condolences to you with our prayer for you from God's Word: "....may the peace of God which transcends all understanding, guard your heats and your minds in Christ Jesus." (Philippians 4:6-7)

I am deeply sorry for your loss.  Chris will be truly missed but will always remain in our hearts.

Since I first heard I have been thinking about Chris and all the wonderful times I spent with him and his family.  He was a wonderful spirit.  God must have needed some production help in heaven.  God bless you guys in your time of sorrow.  Hugs to you all.

Oh man!  I'm at a loss.  Dean, if you are reading my note, know that my thoughts are with you and your family.  Chris always had a smile and a kind word for me.  I hope that I always had the same for him.

God didn't promise days without pain, laughter without sorrow, sun without rain, but he did promise strength for the day, comfort for the tears, and light for the way.

So sorry to hear of your loss.  I knew Chris from the Carowinds Shows in the late 80's and he always had a smile on face. Will be thinking of and praying for you all.
