Cornell Thomas Sasser, born March 3, 1921, age 95, passed away September 19, 2016 at White Oak Manor of Lancaster, SC. Originally from Polkton, NC, she graduated from Burnsville High School in 1938. Cornell was married to the love of her life Joseph Daniel Sasser, for 37 years. She was an expert baker in the Charlotte- Mecklenburg Schools, retired in 1986. Cornell was committed to the mission and fellowship at First Baptist Church, Fort Mill, SC. She is survived by children W. Vann Sasser and with Linda, Phyllis Sasser Hartsell and husband Joe; two grandchildren, Gabe Sasser (Aleisha) and Jessan Hager (Chase); and great grandchildren (Lydia, McCullough and Jessa). She is also survived by her cherished best friend, Dorothy Wallace. Services will be held Wednesday, September 21, 2016 with visitation at 11:30am and the service at 12:30pm in the Paul Helton Chapel at Forest Lawn West Funeral Home; Reverend Ralph Riley officiating.
