Craig Richard Williams, 64, of Charlotte passed away on December 17, 2014. He was born in Minneapolis, MN on December 19, 1949. Craig graduated from Wingate University. He loved sports of all kinds, especially soccer and eventually became a soccer referee. Craig had a little dog named LilBear that was his best buddy. When he worked at flea markets and auctions, he would take Bear with him so they could be together. He is predeceased by his father, Henry “Hank” Williams and granddaughter, Erin Edwards. Craig is survived by his mother, Vada Williams; sister, Vaye Williams; daughter, Brandy (Greg) Hylton; brother, Terrance (Linda) Williams; great-granddaughter, Holli Edwards and several nieces and great-nephews. Holli had a special place in Craig’s heart since they shared the same birthday.
The family will receive friends at Quail Hollow Presbyterian Church, 8801 Park Rd., Charlotte on Sunday December 28 at 2 pm followed by a Memorial Service at 3 pm. The funeral services will be conducted by the Reverend Gus Succop. In lieu of flowers, donations may be given in Craig’s honor to the church.
