Crystal Michelle Earp, a beloved mother, daughter, sister, and friend, passed away on May 29, 2025, at the age of 41 in Charlotte, North Carolina. Born on November 7, 1983, in Okinawa, Japan, Crystal was known for her adventurous spirit and deep love for her family.
She is survived by her three children, Tyler, Brooks, and Aubree Earp: her brothers John and Andrew Madsen, her father Norbert Madsen and her former husband, Jamie Earp. Crystal was preceded in death by her mother, Tracy Jane Madsen, who passed away in March 2023.
Crystal was a true thrill-seeker at heart, always drawn to the rush of adventure. She found joy in horseback riding, roller coasters, jet skiing and riding dirt bikes and ATVs. She also had a lifelong love of sports – she played softball and proudly twirled the baton in her youth. A faithful Dallas Cowboys fan who stayed true till the very end.
In her final years, Crystal battled addiction – an illness that touches countless lives and too often hides behind strong hearts. Though the struggle was long and difficult, it never defined who she was. Crystal was more than her pain. She was a woman who loved fiercely, lived boldly, and wanted nothing more than the best for her children and those she held dear.
Her fearless spirit and radiant laugh could light up any room, leaving lasting impressions on everyone lucky enough to know her. A devoted stay-at-home mother, her children were the center of her world, and she poured her heart into them with unwavering love and strength.
Crystal’s passing is a tragic loss, but her memorial will be cherished with love, laughter, and compassion. Her story is also a powerful reminder of the importance of sympathy, support, and hope for those affected by addiction – and for the families who walk that path beside them.
