

She was born on August 1, 1933, in Caroleen, NC, and grew up in Fort Mill, SC, where she graduated from Fort Mill High School.
Cynthia was a devoted follower of Jesus whose faith guided every aspect of her life. A loving, selfless wife and mother, she was known for her generous spirit and her constant willingness to place the needs of others before her own. For many years, Cynthia volunteered her time to cooking for and feeding the homeless in uptown Charlotte. She was an active member of Woodlawn Baptist Church for many years and, more recently, of Sharon Baptist Church where worship and fellowship with others was very important to her.
Cynthia was a woman of strength who drew her courage from the Lord. She was intelligent and wise, cherishing the teachings and guidance of Scripture throughout her years.
She excelled in her accounting career and worked into her 70s. She found love and enjoyment in her many pets (and grandpets) over the years. Cynthia also enjoyed gardening, sewing, visiting the Farmers Market and participating in water aerobics into her late eighties.
She is survived by her daughter, Lisa Gregory (Scott) her sons Jamie Cook and Stacy Cook (Carol); grandchildren Jimmy (Christen) Katie (Eddie), Piper, Halle (JT) , Jane, and Cami; and great-granddaughter Blakely Gregory. She is also survived by her beloved twin sister Sylvia Coffey, along with nieces and nephews and their families.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, James Cook (2015);her parents Boyce and Mildred West; brother, Norris West; sisters Cordelia Kilby and Dorothy (Tootsie) Wallace.
A visitation will be held on December 19, 2025, at 11:00 am at Sharon Baptist Church, located at 6411 Sharon Rd, Charlotte, NC 28210.
The funeral service will follow at the same venue on December 19, 2025, at 12:00 pm.
A private burial will take place on December 19, 2025, at 2:45 pm at McEwen Funeral Service at Sharon Memorial Park, 5716 Monroe Road, Charlotte, NC 28212.
