Daniel Edmund Floerchinger

Born December 16, 1962 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa to Gene and Patricia (Leather)Floerchinger. Following graduation from South Mecklenburg High School, Dan furthered his education at CPCC. His love of math and computers helped with his long career as a knowledgeable, sought-after machinist until retiring in 2014 due to illness.

Family was the joy of Dan's life, adoring his wife and children. He was an amazing husband, father and grandfather. Dan was seen cheering on the sidelines at his grandkids sporting events and practices. He was adventurous. He loved the outdoors, his Harley, History, the Universe, nature, music, his electric guitar, books, movies and religion.

He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Lori Liddic Floerchinger; three children, Brittainy Correal (Elkyn) of NC, Christina Ibarra (Diego) of SC and Jeremy Floerchinger of Charlotte; and his beloved grandchildren, Michael, Molly, Macie and soon Jade; as well as his mother Patricia Leather of SC, his father and stepmother Gene and Geri Floerchinger of AZ, his sister Jody Drum, brother Randall Floerchinger, stepbrothers Rodney and Jeff Zimmerman; stepsister Beverly Zimmerman and his extended family.

He was preceded in death by his uncles Jim, Myron, Dean, Kelly, and Byron Darling, and grandparents Lester and Lucille Floerchinger.

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, May 28, 2022 at 1 pm at McEwen Funeral Home - Pineville Chapel, 10500 Park Rd., Charlotte, NC 28210.
