David Seymour Mauldwin

Dave was born August 31, 1941 in Charlotte to the late W. D. Mauldwin and Sara H. Mauldwin.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Bea Mauldwin; sons, D. S. Mauldwin and Joseph Mauldwin; and his grandchildren, Trey Mauldwin, Lee and Austin Davidson, and Alex and Justin Mayo; as well as three great-grandchildren, Wade Mayo and Lily and Hailey Davidson.

Also surviving are three sisters, Sallye, Carolyn and Susan; as well as several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his brother, George Franklin Mauldwin; a sister, Judy Crockett Moore; and his beloved canine companion, Daisy.

Dave was a commercial pilot with Piemont, US Air, and was a Corporate Chief Pilot for Columba Hill Aviation in Hickory and Caterpillar in Charlotte.

Dave was a member of the Quiet Birdmans Association, Charlotte Hanger. He was an Elder with the Presbyterian Church and a member of Quail Hollow Presbyterian.

A service to celebrate Dave’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 9th at McEwen Funeral Service – Pineville Chapel. His family will receive friends following the service. Interment will be in Forest Lawn West Cemetery.
