I had the pleasure of working with Dave in Portland Oregon the last couple months. I, along with my entire office are shocked and saddened to hear the tragic news of Dave's passing. He was such a bright light in our office and what an infectious smile. His personality was bigger than life and he was such a pleasure to be around. I want to send my most heartfelt condolences to your family during this horrific time. Heaven is shining a bit brighter now❤️

   I’m so deeply saddened to hear that you passed away.  I have many fond memories of you.  You helped out my knees and ankles with pt.  We used to hit the gym and even hit the town . Man, I miss you.  I am happy to know you’re in heaven smiling down on us.

So saddened to read of David's death! The Steeles were former neighbors. David and our son Steven grew up together and did scouting together. David was a joy to have around and a wonderful person. Our condolences to the Steele family for the loss.

David was always that glowing person with the best smile and a sparkle in his eyes. It was hard not to smile and be happy around him.  This loss is shocking and the world will shine a little less brighter without his presence. My sincerest condolences to his family, friends, and significant other.

I never met him but I was introduced through my friend Drew  before 2 years .After that we used to talk often .
He was such a kind soul.

To my dearest friend with whom I shared so many laughs. I have so many memories of you but no writings of them could do them justice. I shall miss you until the end of my days when I will see you again. And we will laugh once more. Drew

David and our son Drew were great friends for the past 13-14 years. Every time we saw him we were greeted with his huge smile, those twinkling eyes and I never minded the muscled hugs! He was kind, solicitous, always caring and would help us do anything.  He was such an enthusiastic guy. And when he started doing PT we all were his guinea pigs. We so loved his laughs. We would walk by Drew’s room and their laughs would be so infectious we would start laughing too. There is this gigantic hole in our lives with his absence but heaven can enjoy that tremendous personality now. Drew is in the Philippines but was texting with Dave on a regular basis and called us over his concern when he hadn’t heard from him in a few days.  We were so shocked to hear of his death and we send love and our sympathy out to the entire family.  Cathy, Doug and Drew Mitchell

I taught David in the WUDPT program. He was a delight to teach and always had a smile. My fondest memory was at a semi formal party. The students were dancing. David asked me to dance and said excitedly “I got to dance with Dr Wrisley”. He knew how to make others smile. He will be missed. 

I met David through the group of CCDS friends who took me into their tight knit group and shared their church and their lives with me. This group of people not only brought me closer to God, but they made high school a really wonderful time.  All my best high school memories include David - youth group trips, prom, movies and just hanging out. His cousin Kim also became a close friend and mentor to me. 
David always brought a laugh and a smile to our group. It's hard to remember him not full of joy. I am so very sorry for your loss - he was such a bright light, and I know he's shining very brightly in Heaven now. 

David and I share the same birthday.  My wife and I watched David grow up in Charlotte, because we are friends with the Steele family and David's oldest brother Dan was good friends with our son.  David - what a handsome guy, like his brothers.  Kind, respectful, hard working, fun loving.  Our hearts break with Doug, Laurie, Dan and Mark in losing their beloved son and brother.   On behalf of Mary my wife, our sons Olin and Luke, we stand with you as a family now and in the months and years in your grief and sadness.  May the love of Christ, and the fellowship and friendship of brothers and sisters comfort you.  Bruce

David and I were cousins.  He was a great person.  He could always get you to smile due to his witty personality and his infectious smile.

 When our Grandpa was still alive, every Thanksgiving the two sides of the family would get together.  David, Ben, and I would often play football.  Occasionally, Mark would join us.  It would be David and Ben against me.  Inside,  a common thing was we would take turns between either playing a SpongeBob joist stick control thing you plugged into the tv or a game on my Gameboy.  As we got older, the activities changed, but there was one that remained the same.  The day that the families said their goodbyes, we would go out to breakfast at a buffet.  David and I would have an eating competition. I lost each time by count of plates but if we counting amount of food, I would've won.  My plates would be more than full and David would do a plate with just like 3 pieces of fruit and another plate that was only like 3/4 full.  

David will have a great life in heaven and will live in my heart forever.

I had the pleasure of teaching David the Pediatric content at WUDPT. He always wanted to take the kids trike away! It was a little joke between us. He was a wonderful person and will be missed. Our deepest sympathies to his family. 

I think my strongest memory of David Steele was that he sat right in front of me for two years and he was always there to help me or make me laugh. He was literally one finger tap away and he would turn around with a big smile. Miss that dude much. 

I worked with David for only a short time in NM but that was all that was needed to leave a mark. David was really great. He made everyone around him feel relevant. He had charisma, he had a profound and positive effect on the people he met. He was lighthearted and could uplift the mood of a room just by walking in the door. He left an indelible mark of goodness on those around him.  He cared so deeply for his patients and the people around him. He was a walking light. I'm still in shock at his passing.

I'm very sorry for this loss, the world is a bit dimmer today.  My thoughts go out to his family and friends.
