entered his heavenly home.
Dave was born January 9,1949 in Omaha, NE to Vernon and Barbara Wilkie. He lived his first 65 years in Omaha, NE where he attended Westside High School and the University of Nebraska at Omaha. He then worked with his father in the real estate business and managed the family owned Loveland Shopping Center.
Dave married Jeanne in 1978, having met her playing tennis. He enjoyed so many things, including tennis, golf, playing the guitar, attending and watching Nebraska Football, traveling with Jeanne to many locations, especially Las Vegas and Palm Desert annually, and once to Scotland to explore his ancestor’s homeland. He also looked forward to his “5 O’clock somewhere” martinis! But he especially enjoyed spending time with his wonderful family and many special friends.
In 2014, after retiring, Dave and Jeanne moved to the Charlotte, NC area to be near their daughter
and son-in-law, and their two loving grandchildren. They adored him and will miss their “Grampy”
so much. He has truly enjoyed these last few years, being close to family, making great new friends in Sun City, and not having to shovel snow!
Dave was preceded in death by his parents, Vernon K Wilkie and Barbara Shedden Wilkie of
Omaha, NE. He is survived by his wife, Jeanne Delaney Wilkie; daughter and son-in-law, Allison
and Chris Miller of Charlotte NC; grandchildren, Leah and Joshua Miller; sister, Dona Wilkie Talacko
and husband Ray; and many nieces, nephews, and wonderful friends.
Dave will be remembered for his incredible generosity, his kindness, and enduring love for family and friends. We will miss him dearly!
A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, March 12th, 2022 at 10 am at Carmel Baptist Church,
