Donald Alfred Braswell, also known as "BIG DON" or "DON", passed away at his home on Monday, November 26, 2018. Donald was born in Grassy Creek, NC and was the son of Talmadge and Zora Braswell. He was a retired Weyerhaeuser Company worker and spent most of his life living and raising a family in the in the Paw Creek community.
He was an Elvis enthusiast as well as an avid hunter and fisherman. He made many friends throughout his life and never met a soul he couldn't talk to (for hours). He loved his family and was a devoted husband, father, Pawpaw, brother, and friend. He and his great big heart will be missed by all who knew him. Those left to cherish his memory are: Steven Ray Braswell and Melissa Overcash, Travis Mark Braswell, Travis' wife, Candy Helms Braswell, and Shane Kevin Braswell; grandchildren: Heather Ketchum, Amber Barnes, Summer Bollinger, London Braswell, Cody and Jodie Braswell, and Mikayla Lindler and great-grandchildren: Kiley Renee Fisher and Isabella Marie Bollinger, and his brother, Glenn Braswell and sister, Doris Braswell Dover.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm Monday, December 3, 2018, at Forest Lawn West Funeral & Cremation Service, 4601 Freedom Drive, Charlotte, NC 28208.
