Mr. Wade, 69, of Matthews, passed away Thursday, September 8, 2011 at CMC Mercy surrounded by his children and special friend Ann Crocker.
Don served in the U.S. Army and was retired from the City of Charlotte CMUD Division. Don can be remembered as a wonderful father, paw-paw, brother and friend. As long as health permitted, he was an avid golfer who looked forward to his golf trips and a gardener who took pride in being able to share the fruits of his labor. Don was preceded in death by his wife of 42 years, Mary, his parents, and 3 brothers. He leaves behind to cherish his memories: his children Dawn Neimeyer (Glen); and D.J. Wade (Katrina); one grandchild, Danielle Neimeyer; brothers Robert (Jean) and Charles (Barbara), and his faithful dog Gabby. A memorial service to celebrate the life of Mr. Wade will be held at 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 13, 2011 at McEwen Funeral Service at Sharon Memorial Park, 5716 Monroe Rd., Charlotte.
