Donna was born November 30, 1950 in Knoxville, TN to David A. Varner, Jr. and Nora M. Varner. She was a graduate of Young High School in Knoxville and attended the University of Tennessee. Donna worked at ACTS Community Center for 16 years and was a member at St. Stephen United Methodist Church for 26 years where she was in the Discovery Sunday School Class, Chancel Choir, Stephen Ministry, Fellowship Dinner Group and the United Women of Faith, for which she held both local and district offices.
Donna was active in numerous charitable organizations and activity clubs. She loved singing in the choir, travel (both here and abroad), arts, crafts, music, animals and most of all her family and friends. Donna is someone who will be greatly missed.
Donna is survived by her mother, Nora Varner (101), sisters Deloris Varner, Connie Sides and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father David Varner, Jr., brothers Ken Varner, David Varner, III and nephew Donnie Sides.
A memorial service will be held 3:00 p.m., Sunday, August 25 at St. Stephen United Methodist Church, 6800 Sardis Rd., Charlotte, NC 28270.
