Donnie Mae Daugherty Cannon passed away peacefully on May 12, 2021 at Forsyth Medical Center. She was born December 21, 1930 in Thomasville, NC to the late Monroe Jacob and Elizabeth Daugherty. She was married to her late husband William Cannon Sr. for more than 61 years. They were long-time residents of Matthews, NC and moved to Clemmons, NC later in life. Donnie and her husband were long-time members of Eastway Baptist Church in Charlotte, NC and more recently Lewisville Baptist Church.
A devoted mother and grandmother, she leaves behind her daughter Kathy Goodwin and husband Rob of Winston-Salem, NC; son William Cannon Jr. and wife Tiffney of Rockledge, FL; grandchildren Christopher Cannon and wife Lindsey of Swannanoa, NC, Tyler Cannon and wife Tammy of Santa Maria, CA, Ashley Cannon of Tampa, FL and Hunter Goodwin of Rocky Mount, NC. She also leaves behind great grandchildren Evelyn, Carson, Cora, Hampton and Baby Cannon born May 13, 2021. A loving sister and aunt, she leaves behind her brother MJ Daugherty and wife Dot of Polkton, NC and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by her beautiful daughter Pamala Jean Cannon, precious granddaughter Kaitlin Elizabeth Goodwin and siblings Frances, Frank, Ruth and Jean.
Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, May 17, 2021 at 2pm in the chapel at McEwen Funeral Service in Charlotte, NC with burial to follow.
The family will receive friends and loved ones following the committal service.
