Doris Hunt McInturff

Doris was born February 26,1922 in Marion, North Carolina to the late Adam Frank Hunt and Sally Humphries Hunt. She attended Marion city schools and Queens University. She was a longtime member of Washington Street United Methodist Church in Alexandria, Virginia, where she resided prior to moving to Charlotte in 2003.

Doris was preceded in death by her devoted husband of 45 years, David B. McInturff. She is survived by her sister, Jean Hunt Graeber, of Charlotte, North Carolina and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family wishes to express its sincere gratitude to the staff of Sharon Towers for the extraordinary and loving care given Doris during her illness.

A funeral service to celebrate Doris’s life will be held at 2:00 pm on Monday, April 6, 2015 at Harry and Bryant Company “Chapel in the Oaks”. Graveside services will follow at Ivy Hill Cemetery in Alexandria, Virginia at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Residents Assistance Fund at Sharon Towers, 5100 Sharon Road, Charlotte, NC 28210.
