Doris Crane Perry, 88, died July 12, 2016 at CMC Main Hospital. Mrs. Perry was born in Charlotte on March 25, 1928, daughter of the late Samuel Jackson Crane and Margaret Dean Phillips Crane. She was a graduate of Central High School and spent her career in the business world working for Travelers Insurance, First Union National Bank and FM Global Insurance. She retired from FM Global Insurance in 1990. She loved to travel and was able to take a trip to Europe with her daughter and friends. She also loved good music and traveled to New York several times to see Broadway musicals.
Mrs. Perry is survived by her sister, Shirley C. Mullis of Charlotte and special friend Yvonne Shelton of Charlotte and a host of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Robin Lynne Perry; sisters, Nancy Margaret Crane and Joy C. Felker; brothers, Samuel Jackson Crane, Jr., William Kingsley Crane and Donald Phillips Crane.
A service to celebrate her life will be on Sunday, July 17, 2016 at 2pm at Forest Lawn West Cemetery with Pastor Steve Mullis officiating. Memorials can be made to Feed the Children. Arrangements by Forest Lawn West Funeral & Cremation Services.
