Doris McCarter Williams died on August 9 at the age of 86. She devoted her life to family through her loving care of her children and grandchildren. She kept her family connected through Sunday dinners and weekly phone calls. She was born in Clover, SC to A. Leo McCarter and Nancy Ferguson McCarter and was the oldest of her four siblings. Doris left Clover and moved to Charlotte where she met and married Bill and raised their family. She worked and retired as a Bookkeeper for Pennsylvania House. She is preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Lauder Beaman Williams Jr. She is survived by sons, Mark and Dennis (Sue Ann) Williams; daughters, Janice (Randy) Jones, Gayle Martin (Carol Chavis), and Alesia (David) Shore; four grandchildren, Jason, Jana, Maris, and Adam.
