Dorothy C. Bamburg

Dorothy “Dottie” Crutchfield Bamburg, 91 of Charlotte, passed away November 24, 2021. Born and raised on the Westside of Charlotte, NC, she was the daughter of Henry E. and Courty V. (Collins) Crutchfield. She was married to the Late Louie D. Bamburg in 1950.

A graduate of Thomasboro High School in 1948, she grew up attending Glenwood ARP Presbyterian Church. She was a member of Sharon Presbyterian Church, where she loved to help, participating in many church activities.

Dottie was employed as an accountant/ bookkeeper for Westbrook Norton Insurance Agency for 40 years, and continued to work for BBT Insurance, then on to Atrium (Carolinas Medical) in their accounts receivables department.

Such a kind and giving person to all, Dottie’s smile was always there. She loved her family and never met a stranger.

Dottie is survived by her daughter, Cathy Bamburg McGinn; son, John (Valerie) F. Bamburg; grandchildren, Justin McGinn, Jenna McGinn, Zachery Bamburg and Corey (Tim Greaves) Bamburg; great-grandchildren, Rebel and Margot; many nieces and nephews that will always remember their Great Aunt Dottie. She was also blessed to have so many friends that loved her.

She is proceeded in death by her parents, Henry E. and Courty V. Crutchfield; husband, Louie D. Bamburg; three brothers, Walter “Pete”, DeWitt, and Johnny Crutchfield and one sister, Laverne Crutchfield.

Memorial Service 2 p.m. Friday, December 17, 2021 at Forest Lawn West Funeral & Cremation Service, 4601 Freedom Drive, Charlotte, NC. Burial in Forest Lawn West Cemetery.
