

Dorothy Doreen “D.D.” Buckwell, 62, passed away at home on December 7, 2010 after a courageous battle with ALS. D.D. was born on February 14, 1948 to Harold and Maria Davey of Port Perry, Canada. She was an installation coordinator with CPI for twenty years. D.D. was also an avid reader, wine connoisseur, bird watcher and animal lover.
D.D. is predeceased by a sister, Beverly Warner and grandson, Alexander Michael Buckwell. She is survived by her only son, Andrew Buckwell and his wife, Anita; loving sister and best friend, Kathy Kemp; brother, Bruce Davey; sister, Sylvia Davey; granddaughter, Nicole Beard; former husband, Ashley Buckwell and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles. She is also survived by her wonderful CPI family and her beloved dog, Faith.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 11 at 2:00 pm at McEwen Pineville Chapel, 10500 Park Road, Charlotte, 28210. The family will receive friends immediately after the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the ALS Association Development Department, www.alsa.org or to the Humane Society of Charlotte, www.humanesocietyofcharlotte.org. The family would like to give special thanks to Ken and Melinda Gill and the entire CPI family along with Dr. Benjamin Brooks and his loving, caring staff.
